Dutchess County is named as the primary location of the Blanding’s Turtle in New York State.

Part of the reason why we didn't ultimately go for this property is that it has some protected land for the Blanding's Turtle.

It might have made some sense to think more about this property because Lincoln's spirit animal was the turtle when he was little. But then we thought about snakes and mosquitoes...
